Ben is a senior civil servant. As Secretary to the Covid-19 Inquiry he is running the UK’s broadest ever public inquiry. A big part of that role is capturing the human impact of the pandemic. Nearly 60,000 people shared their experiences through the Inquiry’s Every Story Matters project.

Earlier in his career, Ben worked at the Department for Education and at the Ministry of Justice. Outside work, Ben has been a trustee of Punchdrunk Enrichment, another charity committed to transforming the lives of children through the magic of their imaginations. He also likes eating, drinking, theatre and nature.
